Congradulations to American Oak. I Hope that the citizens of Starke County appreciate their investments. They have played an inportant part of the gross income of the people that paid income taxes to Indiana on the over 300 million dollars that they have received in statke county. If you have lived in Starke county this is the monies these folks have received and paid taxes on , ask the Dept of Revenue of Indiana. Go Charlie...

Consider posting your program schedule. I can not listen all day but if I know there is something coming up I am especially interested in I can be sure to listen.

When posting the police report, could you include the address of the property's involved? I consider that useful info. Good idea, this website of yours.

As a Knox basketball fan, I was wondering if anyone else thought coach Boldry's comments on the Saturday sports line were inappropriate. It seems to me if he were to concentrate on this years team instead of pining away for last years team he might realize that as he said, "We do a lot of pushups" isn't going to make the team better, only really good at pushups. They look like a team scared to death of making a mistake, instead of a team that is willing to make a few plays. How about a little less screaming at players during games and a little more coaching!!

Push-ups are used as a deterant to make kids not want to excede to their potential. I didn't hear Coach Boldry's interview, however, that's why coaches do what they do. A special thanks to Louann for going to OD last night. I'm glad to hear she enjoyed the experience. I hope she's invited into other schools to see that there are great girls squads all over our listening area.

I'm a parent of an OD Girls Basketball player, and Thank You to Lou for not only coming out to the game, but being so sweet to our girls. She's our good luck charm and that plus all the hard work those girls put into the program, we're ready for an outstanding season. My daughter was so excited to have a her there. Our door is always open to that kind of positive attitude. We'll roll out the red, white, and black carpet any day, as Harold would say. Thanks again, Lou!

Are you planning on posting school closings and delays on your site, or is it something you already have set up that I'm missing?

I should notify my friend about it.

Please check your facts before printing artcles. The last execution in Indiana was in 2007 not 2005.

I find it interesting in the report of execution of Matthew Eric Wrinkles not a single word was spoken as to why the Indiana Supreme Court would sentence this man to die.

Undoubtedly, this story came from some standard news service which puts out such information, and as such carried all over the country, then read and printed as important news.

In place of, at the very least, identifying the crime committed, we are given a history lesson on the techniques used in capital punishment in the state of Indiana from its inception to the current technique of lethal injection.

Then furthering along the history path we’re then introduced to those awaiting such fate in the Indiana Department of Corrections, names and ages are provided. These people are referred to as offenders, we’re even told how long they’ve been there.

Again not a single word as to what horrific crimes these people have committed in our open society. Not one word as to what tragic ends to life and the countless families ripped apart by the deeds of these misguided souls. The pain and suffering of families across the nation is not even spoken a passing word.

This is the biggest piece of journalism carp I’ve read in a long time. This article is a classic example of somebody infusing their point of view on a story. Not to even mention the crimes committed in this article is wrong, just plain wrong. It’s a failed attempt at news reporting. It appears aimed toward symphony for the convicted killer.

I’m of the impression that good news reporting reports all the facts, not selective segments of facts. With that being said this was not good news reporting. Are the words murderer or killer now politically incorrect titles for news reporting? Offenders, not killers. Offenders not murderers.

The news to Starke County may have been better served to report the execution of this killer, identify his victims, and offer a moment of silence in remembrance of such tragic events in society. But I forget, we’re radio, and we mustn’t have silent air time.

We keep hearing rumors about some guy in N.J. carring a gun and school was in lock down. I haven't heard a single thing on the news.

How about pictures of the people on the radio? Or pages for each radio personality to put funny or interesing things on?

Anonymous said...

I agree. How about a page for each person who works there so we can ask them questions and such?

Anonymous said...

Is there a way to get a copy of the picture of Aubrey Minix and her family?

Sure...just drop me an email and I'll give you the information. Lou@wkvi.com

Thanks for your interest,

I was disappointed that our superintendent wasn't at the game last night where they retired Aubry's number. Bill was always at these kind of events. There were a lot of people there from the media and a lot of teachers as well as alumni, and it's possible that he was there and I didn't see him. I just think that's a shame that it seems as though our superintendent doesn't care about our corporation when we're celebrating something so positive.

I didn't see him either. I don't think he was there. You're right, that's disappointing.

I was wondering if you planned on streamlining your station to the web. I browse the net alot and would like to keep up to date with local news to listen to online!!

Your story headline says "Two Local 8th Graders Win First Round In Essay Contest" and the story says "County wiiners...have been nmed.", yet no mention as to who the winners are.

Give the kids some credit!

Why does our new Starke County Chamber Executive Director have Illinois plates on her vehicle? Is she a full time Bass Lake resident or a retired fip with nothing else to do? How long has she lived here full time? I'm sure she is qualified but does she know about Starke County enough? Seems interesting to me. Hope our chamber knows what their doing.
